THE

 APEX

GATHERING

The Apex Gathering exists to help Kingdom Leaders pursue the mountains that God has uniquely designed them to climb.

WHEN /

July 10th & 11th, 2020

WHERE /

Hastings, MN

ABOUT THE EVENT /

The Apex Gathering is two days to spend with other Kingdom builders from all different demographics to pause // connect // grow // go. We believe having people to lock arms with and to experience connection with is the key to long term success in sharing Jesus with a world who is desperately searching for Him.

The Apex Gathering is two life changing days each summer. More than just a two-day experience our hope is that being a part of an Apex Gathering starts a journey for you of growing closer to Jesus all the while bringing others with you.

Our time together will focus on conversations and intentional teaching times from participants and facilitators alike. There will be time for reflection, dreaming, innovating & growing, coupled with conversations with people who understand what a life of investing in Kingdom Building endeavors. It is our hope and prayer that everyone involved with an Apex Gathering will come expecting change and growth in our own lives which we can only hope will spill over onto those around us. We truly believe this time will change the landscape of our hearts and the trajectory of our lives.

Our two days together will be filled with resources, conversations and other unexpected twists. We are intentionally vague on the specific details of our time together because, well, we can, and a little mystery adds to the excitement. You'll be on a need to know basis, knowing what you need to know in plenty of time.

All Apex Gatherings are filled with Kingdom Builders through an application process. No matter what the context you are currently living in, your desire to Pause // Connect // Grow // Go on what could be is what makes the Apex Gathering right for you.

We believe that Kingdom Builders must keep their hearts in pursuit of Jesus which means, we have our eye on the goal and we aren't turning back, all the while being reminded we aren't the experts in all of this, but must remain life long learners.

The Apex Gathering will be Friday & Saturday

July 10th & 11th 2020

The cost per event is $150

I live in Minnesota, with my wife Calli and our three kids. The Twin Cities is buzzing with culture - food, drink, coffee, micro-breweries, and lots of lost and hurting people. This is our home, I love it here.

I'm the founder and lead visionary of Apex Leadership Institute. I have a deep desire for people to develop their God given ability to lead and love others. I'm also a Campus Pastor at a Church called Embrace, Our church is built around the very simple idea of reaching the next person for Jesus. We believe the way of Jesus is a way of life that offers hope to the hopeless, redemption to the lost, and peace to the restless.

My life's ambition is to be with Jesus, become like him, and try to do what he did. My prayer is the stuff I'm a part of helps you do the same.

I am married to my wonderful wife, Hayley, and dad to my two boys Noah and Aidan. As a business leader in Arizona and a business consultant, I have been able to develop systems and put leadership principles into action every day. This has given me the time to pour into my role as Board President for Paladin Sports Outreach and as Board Vice President of Apex Leadership Institute. I love to find ways to continually grow and to help those around me to do the same. I enjoy coaching my sons’ sports in Paladin and traveling with my wife the most.

I want to be a carrier of joy in whatever situation and season I am in. I love to travel and meet new people. You can find me adventuring to the mountains a lot, but God also currently has me planted in Minnesota, which is where I grew up. I have been involved in ministry for 8+ years, whether that has been being an intern, volunteer, youth director, or pouring into those that are leading the next generation. My heart is to be with people and love them like Jesus. I love a good living room chat with friends and an opportunity to speak about the story of God in front of my younger friends. Overall, God has called me to lead. My roles have changed within my career path, but my call has stayed the same. Currently, my eyes are set on investing in my role as an admin coordinator at a residential eating disorder facility. When I took this position, I had no idea that God was going to call me to lead in this way. My eyes have been opened to something new and necessary. More than ever, I see the need for Kingdom builders in whatever capacity we are in.

Jordan is what we call the "execution guru" of Apex Gathering. She's a rare type that loves all things that involve admin work and lists. She currently works as an executive assitant and marketing lead for a business owner. She has a passion for story-telling and a heart that longs to make that her ministry. You can usually find Jordan sitting in her local Dunn Brothers Coffee Co. perfecting her Spotify playlists and searching for the next great book to read.

Hayley is a stay-at-home mom that's never home. She and her husband, Ty, are raising two boys that love sports, so you can usually find her in her minivan on the way to a field somewhere. Besides her family, Hayley's other passions include traveling, attention to detail, good grammar, and cake. In addition to running a business with Ty, she recently began teaching regularly at Releasing Ripples Conferences. She's excited to be back for her sixth year as the event coordinator at Apex.

Calli is our hospitality and guest experience expert. She is an at home mom to her 3 kids, and is a part time online learning coach for an online high school. She has a passion for reaching the next people for Jesus, the people of Haiti and her family. She's probably best summarized by her son, Silas: "my mom is nice and does a lot of laundry".

Asa Tessness

"I do the Podcast"

John serves as one of the original board members of Apex Leadership Institute. He brings 30 years of ministry experience as either a volunteer or a paid staff. He currently serves as the Lead Pastor at a church in Albert Lea, MN. John will clearly say that some of his best moments in ministry happened as a volunteer youth worker. John takes great pride in those that grew up in programs he has overseen and are now serving the local church or para church organizations that are introducing people to Jesus. John's focuses outside of ministry are his close friends and sports. Even though he lives in MN, his favorite college football team is the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Asa is currently a Resident Director at Bethel University, where when he was in college, he studied Bible, ministry, reconciliation and leadership. He has been in ministry for nearly 10 years in many different roles, from youth intern to Associate Pastor. Asa is a people person and is passionate about hearing others stories and walking alongside them through life. When he's not co-hosting The Apex Leader, hammocking with his friends, or quoting The Office, Asa is fully embracing his new role as "dog dad" to his puppy, Freagh.
